The
Insurance Institute for Highway Safety announced their crash test ratings for 2010 model trucks.
Forbes compiled a list of the 7 most unsafe trucks available on the market right now, and the results are shocking for
Brandon Chevrolet Parts! Chevy, GM, and Ford have consistently been known for their outstanding vehicle safety ratings, but the Chevy Colorado Crew Cab made the bottom seven! Consumers can continue to visit their local
VW Dealer and rest assured that the vehicles they are purchasing have excellent safety ratings. But if you are getting a vehicle from
Used Car Dealer Kansas City, make sure you ask lots of questions about the safety ratings. Better advice is to do the research yourself because those salesmen might withhold some of the negative information from you. An example would be saying they have good ratings for front impact crash tests, but fail to mention that they didn't do so well for the rear impact or rollover portions!
If a truck received a good rating, it means that the crash test dummies did not incur any damage. However, a poor rating means that the dummies were severely or fatally injured! The seven trucks that made the list include: GMC Canyon Crew Cab, Hummer H3, Nissan Titan, Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab, Jeep Wrangler 4-Door,
Jeep Wrangler 2-Door, and Dodge Ram 1500. Notice how many of those are American brands! To make the picture seem a bit brighter, most of the trucks available and purchased are from domestic manufacturers.
There was a total of 12 points possible, with rating scores of good, acceptable, marginal, and poor. The four areas there were tested were front impact, side impact, rear impact, and rollover. Not all vehicles underwent the rollover test, but their scores were properly adjusted to take that into consideration.
