There are exciting things happening with the 2011 Ford F-150 line up! Some of the inventory might already be arriving at Ford Dealerships, but there is no way you will find one at Cincinnati Used Cars. Ford is announcing that there will be four new engines in the F-150 line up, and that they will all be the most fuel efficient in their class. While Volkswagen Dealer lots do not need to worry about losing business because they don't have trucks in their inventory, the fact that Ford is offering better fuel economy in an incredibly safe truck might pose some competition for the SUV market. While the features that comes standard on the new F-150s is by far more luxurious than what you used to get for a pick up truck, it can't compare with what you would get at Pittsburgh Mercedes-Benz. Buying a new car is a personal decision, but we will give you some info on the new engines Ford is offering.
The entire 2011 line up will come with a six speed automatic transmission. Offering that higher gear already improves the fuel economy. Plus, Ford continues to be the brand to set standards, as no other truck brand is offering six speeds as the standard transmission. SelectShift will be featured on the new F-150s, which will improve the towing capability of the trucks. Drivers can put the transmission in a manual mode and then have shifting control so that they can select the best gear for their tow load and desired fuel economy.
Ford is now offering two V6 engines in their full size truck, something that hasn't been done in years. Ford assures consumers that all trucks will qualify as being Built Ford Tough. The 3.5 liter V6 EcoBoost features a twin turbocharged engine for towing capabilities and great fuel economy. The 3.7 liter V6 can tow 6,100 pounds and gives drivers 300 horsepower and 275 pound feet of torque. The 5.0 liter V8 will tow 9,800 pounds and has 360 horsepower with 380 pound feet of torque. Lastly, there is a 6.2 liter V8 that can tow an impressive 11,300 pounds! Drivers will love the 411 horsepower and 434 pound feet of torque.
